Join us for an open play group, fun activities, and Special Events that allow caregivers and young children to have fun, run around and play and meet new friends! Tuesdays and Thursdays will typically host open gym play session, with Wednesdays featuring sing-a-longs and other fun activities. There will also be Special Events that will take the place of the regular program and a Story Time presented by the North Wales Library the second Wednesday of each month.
Education for preschool children!
Studies indicate that literacy begins at very early ages. Story Time is designed as a reading enrichment program for preschool children. In their 1998 report, Preventing Reading Difficulties in Young Children, the National Research Council's committee on the Prevention of Reading Difficulties in Young Children stressed the need for broad public awareness about the importance of creating opportunities for developing language and literacy through everyday activities, both at home and in group settings. Story time provides children and parents in a group setting with high-quality, up-to-date books that teach basic concepts, such as colors and numbers. Caregivers will observe techniques used by Library staff to extend the educational value of books. Themes (topics) are often used to bring awareness of the seasons, colors, numbers, animals, fire prevention week, etc. Every family will benefit as they begin their journey to raise a child to be a lifelong reader.
You’re invited to join the staff from North Wales Area Library for songs, finger-plays and stories at the Montgomery Township Recreational Building. Story Time will be held the second Wednesday morning of each month beginning at 10 am
